Foundry Theater Company at Foundry42 includes workshops for k-4, middle school and high school students, pop-up fx makeup classes and one-on-one training sessions

LITTLES MOVE, DANCE AND PLAY

Ages: 2 and up
(must be potty-trained for “drop off,” those not potty-trained will require a parent to stay on-site downstairs in the cafe)

Class Days/Times: Wednesday from 11:30 to 12:15 p.m.

Confidence Camp for Littles

Class Description: Drop off the kids for this very special child development class!  This unique program has been designed by Emmy Award actress and director Mandy Bruno-Bogue, Clinical Child Psychologist and musician Dr. Cooper Boone and nationally competitive gymnast Amanda Pauley!  This 5 session program incorporates theatre, music and movement in order to build critical life skills. Our techniques encourage creativity, collaboration, problem solving, and concentration. Playing instruments, singing, moving, and exploring while building the child's confidence, self-control, and communication skills.  THIS CLASS IS BEYOND POWERFUL FOR CHILD DEVELOPMENT!

Tuition: $75.00

STORYTIME THEATER

Ages: Pre-K-2nd Grade

Class Days/Times: Tuesdays from 4:30-5:30 p.m.

April 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th
May 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th

**Classes may extend to June 2nd and 9th if we need to cancel for snow days. We will follow the local school closures.

Parents are welcome to join us for a pop in on the final day of classes to see how classes run, and what we have been working on. 

Tuition: $160.00

Class Description:
A wonderful introduction to the world of acting and role playing. Read and act out a short plays based on an exploration of storybook characters and settings. Get ready to have lots of silly fun through creative play, improvisation, dress up, and movement exercises. The Class will end with a performance of one of our storybook plays for family and friends!

ACTING 101 for Kids

Ages: 3rd-5th Grade

Class Days/Times: Thursdays from 4:30-5:30 p.m.

Class Description:
Explore the strange and fascinating world of nature!! Practice story construction, character development, and performance skills through ensemble exercises that activate your actor’s tools: body, voice, and imagination. In this session, students will learn dramatic movement and characterization through activities centered around the world around them. They will create their own characters based on exotic plants, and rehearse and perform two short plays, “The Selfish Giant,” by Oscar Wilde, and “La Mariposa,” an original script based on a Spanish folktale.

Class Description:Get ready to create your own variety show! In this upbeat class, students will develop confidence by staging their very own variety show. Faculty will foster the students basic understanding of acting skills, and help them gain a sense of comedic timing. Bonding as a group, students will implement focus and listening skills, learn how to communicate to peers via dramatization and practice relating movement to music and stories all while imagining and creating unique characters.

Teen Conservatory: Auditions

Ages: 14 to 18

Class Days/Times: Thursday s from 6 - 7:00 p.m.

April 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th

Class Description:

Get ready to look like a pro at your next audition!

Where do you find auditions? When do you need an agent? How can you tell scams from genuine opportunities? Answering all of these questions and more, students in this class will have the opportunity to gain confidence as they learn the ins and outs of the often nerve wracking part of the biz! Students will gain an understanding of their “type” and be able to begin using that information to fine tune their auditions. They will have the opportunity to create a professional looking resume, *have a professional headshot done, and learn how to adequately prepare for their upcoming auditions by gaining a clear understanding what they see vs. what the director sees. With guidance from faculty, students will compile their own unique “audition book” containing a one minute comedic and a one minute dramatic monologue, plus cuts of 2 contrasting musical theater songs-an invaluable asset for any hopeful performer!

A one-on-one acting class and mentorship focused on the individual student. A program that focuses on building confidence and training the student to deliver like a pro, to teaching you all aspects of the business, to positioning you to be represented by a strong agent. From beginners to novices, from actors to business professionals looking to build their strengths in public speaking.

One or several Teaching Artist’s from our staff will come to your classroom for a one to three session residency for a more in-depth look at advanced theatre topics such as On-Camera work, Commercial VoiceOver Work, Playwriting, Musical Theater, Improvisation, Design, and more!
